國中的閱讀測驗文章變長(120–180 字),題型也變多。重點不是讀得快,而是知道每種題目要去哪裡找答案。
五種常見題型與解法:
- 主旨題(What is the passage mainly about? / best title):看第一段與最後一段,選「涵蓋全文」的選項;只講到一個細節的選項通常是陷阱。
- 細節題(According to the passage, ...):用題目的關鍵字(人名、數字、時間)回文章定位,比對那一句。正確選項常常是換句話說(paraphrase):文章寫 purchased,選項寫 bought。
- 推論題(What can we infer / learn ...?):答案沒有直接寫,但有證據支持。不要選「看起來合理但文章沒根據」的選項。
- 字義題(The word "X" in line 3 means ...):回原句看前後文,把選項代進去讀讀看。
- 指涉題(What does "it / they" refer to?):往前找最近的、單複數相符的名詞。
- 作者目的(Why did the writer write this?):看文體——廣告是推銷、信件可能是邀請或道謝、說明文是介紹。
技巧:先讀題目再讀文章;遇到生字先跳過;選答案前一定回原文找到「證據句」。
例題

Leo is a smart boy, but he has one big fear. He is afraid of speaking in class. Every time his teacher asks a question, Leo knows the answer, but his heart beats fast and his face turns red. He worries that his friends might laugh at him if he says the wrong word. Yesterday, the teacher asked the class to talk about their favorite animals. Leo wanted to talk about his dog, Max, but he just sat there and said nothing. His friend, Sam, spoke about his cat. After class, Sam told Leo, "I was very afraid too, but I just took a deep breath and did it." Leo looked at Sam and thought about this. He decided that next time, he would try to raise his hand and speak.
閱讀上面的短文,回答問題:
What can we learn about Leo from the passage?
- ① He has a cat named Max that he wanted to talk about.
- ② He wants to try speaking in class in the future.
- ③ He does not know the answers to the teacher's questions.
- ④ He did not go to school yesterday because of his fear.
看解法與答案
文章最後提到，Leo聽完朋友的話後，「決定下一次他會嘗試舉手發言」(He decided that next time, he would try to raise his hand and speak)，由此可以推論出選項 He wants to try speaking in class in the future.（他未來想嘗試在課堂上發言）是正確的。其他選項中，Leo其實知道答案 (Leo knows the answer)；他昨天有去學校並聽了朋友說話 (Yesterday...)；他的寵物 Max 是一隻狗 (his dog, Max) 而非貓，因此其他選項皆不正確。
